History of the company
Nowadays the company is managed by the third generation of its founder, Don
Otto Sagemüller.
Shortly after having arrived from Germany, he started to
work as an independent company in 1896, in the city of Crespo, province of
Entre Ríos, Argentina.
The beginning in Argentina, back then to the XIX
century, was made possible by means of the agricultural activity, that developed
very
fast, and that
gave way to the first flour mill, built to meet the needs of flour in the
region.
The constant growth and improvement of the activities carried out
by the company was parallel to the increasing development of the community
of Crespo.
This initial and strong push forward defined the line of conduct that certainly
defined the successors, and following this line it has been possible to
build up this company.
When the Mercosur, the third regional market in the
world, started to work as such, the management of the company considered
that this was the strategic
opportunity to take active part in such market, and so it established an
industrial plant in the most important area within the outstanding partner
in the Mercosur:
Brazil. A factory with state-of-the-art technology was established there
to manufacture pet food, and it is nowadays working without stopping since
its
opening in 1997.
The quality of the products is the outcome and consequence
of a well-defined philosophy which has been followed over all these years,
and it clearly
depicts the presence of Alimentos Sagemüller in the Mercosur.
